I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts at NSCAD University in 2005. In 2004, I spent a year studying at the Florence Academy of Art working towards a diploma in figurative sculpture, and figure drawing. My work is directed by an urge to capture the surreal aspects of landscapes and people, exploring the territory between the memory of a place and its actuality, finding a way to express the strangeness of a subject ( person or land/ city scape) without departing from traditional formal techniques. I would like to express atmosphere, depth of spaces, evocative narratives, intense color, and point to the surrealness of the mundane. I am currently completing my Master of Architecture degree at the University of Toronto. |
